When is Modern not Modern - when it’s Ultra Modern. At least that’s what we’ve decided here at Wargames Illustrated. For this month’s magazine theme we wanted to go beyond World War Two, but stop before the Millennium, so we’ve decided that the Modern ‘period’ covers 1946 to 1999 and in this issue we have seven articles that shelter comfortably beneath our “Modern” umbrella. Away from the latter part of the 20th Century, we take a look at the new fantasy warband rules from Warlord Games - Warlords of Erehwon. Why I Love… returns, with the virtues of Of Gods and Mortals being extolled by James Morris. We continue to look at convention super-project Three Days at Gettysburg, teach you how to make Cruel Seas Wreck Markers, and speak to Alan Perry about his new Agincourt Knights, plus loads more besides. Our freebie cover-mounting continues this month with (courtesy of Warlord Games) one of three possible frames featuring Napoleon’s light cavalry. Bagged with this issue you will receive: two French Hussars, Lancers or Chasseurs a Cheval. To find out more about Napoleon’s “Eyes and Ears” turn to page 24 and read Bill Gray’s excellent article on the subject. There will be another freebie frame next month.
