Hannibal (GiM 58)
£7.00
The Roman Empire’s greatest adversary, Hannibal Barca was one of history’s most famous generals. His battlefield tactics and strategic planning earned him respect during his life and renown ever since.
Profoundly affected by the defeat of his home nation of Carthage in the First Punic War, Hannibal vowed to his father “I will use fire and steel to arrest the destiny of Rome”. He set about doing just that when he led the Carthaginians in the Second Punic War – famously crossing the Alps into Italy and bringing the war to the Romans.
Our figure represents Hannibal Barca resplendent in all his glory, wearing a cuirass of triple golden rings, which it was said: “no weapon could pierce”.
