As we prepare for 2024 we’re busy emailing our regular contributors with a list of planned themes. This preparation ensures that our best writers have a chance to pen fascinating pieces that are suited to their interests and matched to each issue’s overall focus. At the same time, we’re also always happy to get non-theme articles, as these take up most of our page count each month. As a WiPrime Member you’re clearly keen on our magazine, familiar with what we do, and a fan of wargaming and history. Chances are you’ve got a great idea or two for an article bubbling around in your head; why not treat the new year as a chance to make an achievable resolution and pen a piece? If you send us something good it could jumpstart regular coverage of your hobby in Wi and by the end of next year, you might be on that regular contributors list! I’ve certainly got plenty of wargaming and painting projects in my mind for 2024 and some of these will become articles. A few spears of recruits with some characters in charge is achievable and makes for quick games. We’ve already played some one-off skirmishes; even Joe (whose first wargaming ever was in our Silver Bayonet campaign) and Charlie (who was a wargaming virgin before playing Ruckus) are into the game and eager to join the campaign. I’m not sure if I’ll write up all the action in the magazine but, if nothing else, I’ll do a piece summarising our fun. Ruckus author Mike Peters tries to herd Joe and Charlie, the Wi team's unruly gaming kittens! I am eager to head to Vietnam and further explore the conflict that has fascinated me for decades. Rather than the oft-covered US involvement I’d like to dig into the later, ‘Vietnamization’ period of the protracted conflict. These North versus South clashes don’t tend to get as much coverage, but they are equally intriguing and increasingly well supported with figures in 28mm. Rubicon has all kinds of cool vehicles that would be appropriate and this could be my excuse to expand my collection, which is currently quite US-focused. Rubicon's T54/55 tank is one of various
